Shop Phones

Company Androids and iPhones stay at the shop. Follow the enrollment flow Admin configured, sign in with your @qbfab.com account, then install Voice and Bitdefender.

These phones have no SIM and only work on shop Wi-Fi. They stay at the shop and are not personal phones. Use your own @qbfab.com account—never an admin login or a dummy shop account.

What this phone is

This is a QB shop phone. It is not yours to take home.

Shop Wi-Fi only

There is no SIM card. If it is not on the company Wi-Fi, it will not call, text, or load apps.

Your work login

Sign in with your @qbfab.com email and password. Do not use a personal Gmail or an admin login. No dummy shop accounts.

Voice follows you

Your Google Voice number belongs to you, not the handset. You can use the same number on your personal phone without enrolling it in Device Policy.

Set up an Android

For company-owned Galaxy A16s and other Android shop phones. The exact enrollment screens depend on how Admin configured the device.

Check with Admin before resetting a phone that has been used

Google's company-owned setup starts from a new or factory-reset device. A reset erases data, so do not reset it yourself; ask Admin to prepare it.

2

Start setup and connect to shop Wi-Fi

Choose to set up as a new device when asked. There is no SIM, so use Wi-Fi.

3

Sign in with your @qbfab.com account

Use your own work account and password, not a personal Gmail, shared shop account, or admin login. Accept the Google terms and continue with work setup when prompted.

4

Complete the management prompts shown on the phone

If prompted to install Android Device Policy, tap Install, accept and continue, then follow the on-screen steps. Allow any required screen lock and finish installing work apps if offered.

5

Finish setup and confirm with Admin if enrollment did not complete

Use a PIN or other screen lock if requested. If no company-management prompt appears, setup might still be using basic management; ask Admin to confirm the phone is enrolled and ready before using it for work.

Important for company-owned Androids

  • →Google's instructions say a used company device may need a factory reset. Admin should handle that because it erases the device.
  • →Basic management may not require a Device Policy app; advanced management can require users to install one. Follow the actual company enrollment flow rather than expecting one specific prompt.

Set up an iPhone

For company-owned iPhones. Their enrollment is different from Android and should be preconfigured by Admin.

1

Check with Admin before resetting a used iPhone

Google's company-owned setup requires a factory reset if the device was already in use. Resetting erases data, so Admin should prepare the phone.

2

Start iPhone setup, connect to shop Wi-Fi, and set a passcode

Follow the setup assistant. If asked, skip restoring a backup unless Admin tells you otherwise.

3

Enroll on the Remote Management screen

When the organization’s Remote Management screen appears, tap Enroll my iPhone and continue through the company setup prompts. If this screen does not appear, stop and contact Admin; do not try to enroll it as a personal phone.

4

Open Google Device Policy after it installs

Sign in with your @qbfab.com account, accept the terms, and follow the prompts to install the configuration profile. In Settings, finish installing the profile if iOS sends you there. If the app does not install during company setup, contact Admin.

5

Finish setup and check with Admin if enrollment is incomplete

The exact app and profile prompts depend on your organization’s settings. Do not remove the management profile. If setup fails or the phone is not enrolled, stop and contact Admin.

Personal iPhone is different

  • →These company-owned enrollment steps are not for your personal iPhone.
  • →For Voice on a personal phone, install and sign in to Voice only, if your organization allows it. Do not enroll your personal phone in Device Policy unless Admin specifically directs you to.

Voice and Bitdefender

After company enrollment, get work apps from the app source Admin approved for that phone.

1

Install Google Voice

Use the company-approved app source. Depending on setup, work apps may be in Managed Google Play or Google Device Policy > Apps. Then sign in with the same @qbfab.com account. Ask Admin if Voice is not available.

2

Install Bitdefender

Scan the Bitdefender QR code near the top of this page with the company phone camera. The code must be shown on another screen or on the printed quick reference. Complete the download and setup to add the device to QB’s Bitdefender account. If the code does not work, ask Admin instead of downloading from another website.

3

Leave the phone at the shop

Put it on the charger. Do not take it home.

Day to day

After setup you almost never touch settings.

Use Voice for calls and texts

On the shop phone or your personal phone.

2

Do not remove the work account

That drops management and Voice on this handset.

3

Lost or stolen

Tell Admin immediately so they can secure the account or device. Available remote actions depend on how the phone is enrolled and managed.

Quick fixes

  • No service / cannot call: There is no SIM. Join shop Wi-Fi. Voice needs Wi-Fi.
  • Forgot my Google password: Use forgot password on the Google sign-in screen, or ask Admin to reset it. Do not use someone else’s login.
  • No company enrollment or Device Policy prompt: Management prompts depend on Admin settings; some basic management does not use a Device Policy app. Ask Admin to confirm this company-owned phone is enrolled and ready before using it.
  • Voice has no number: Ask Admin to assign a Voice license and number to you.
  • Phone asks for a personal Gmail: Back up and use your @qbfab.com address.
  • I want this on my personal phone too: Install Voice only. Do not enroll your personal phone in Device Policy.

Need help?

If you are unsure whether a company phone is enrolled, Voice has no number, or setup gets stuck, stop and ask Admin. Management prompts vary, so do not use a personal account or skip enrollment to bypass setup.
